Hey all, new to this forum.
I got a job a month ago as an Inbound/GM TM, and I am not going to lie my attendance has been iffy and I'm worried about my position.
So, when I was hired on, they placed me for a 5-130 shift per day, which I actually enjoy because I get off earlier.
My first week, I got the flu, I used the MyTime app to submit the call offs and when I got back after those two days, I talked to my direct TL and he said not to worry, things happen, and didn't even expect a Drs. note.
Well I worked the next couple of weeks with no issues, but honestly, the last 3 days has been nothing but terrible for my older sister (who struggles with health issues) and I called off twice again to take care of her. But I think I made it worse, because my SD called my yesterday night, and asked "Are you able to come in tomorrow" and I didn't give a definitive answer but he put me on for 7-130 today.
Listen, I know I might catch flack (Which I deserve) but I'm not sure what's going to happen next, I have access to MyTime, Workday, etc. And didn't get a call from the SD today. When he called yesterday he asked if I was okay, and I told him the family situation, and that it'll be resolving shortly, he said attendance hadn't been great, and I'd need to "bounce back".
I'm prepared for whatever at this point. I'm in college and I need this job, but these unforseen things have taken me out of the loop, and at my past job usually people are understanding so I'm not sure
EDIT: Thank you all for the kind responses, I honestly had expected to be let go today, but my TL pulled me aside to talk to our ETL and the ETL pretty much said "Its a personal matter, you're good, but if things continue, we can't stop discipline" also, I know ASANTS, but my store does not do the instant term for attendance for 90 days, my TL said there's still 3 CA's that need to be done. Anyway, all good here, just looking towards the future now!
