Service & Engagement Can I speak to a manager?: A front end thread

We aren’t allowed to do that haha if you have no receipt and we don’t even sell it anymore you are SOL

make it "right" for the guest

i've had to do no receipt returns on products that we never sold because my GSTL is paranoid about a bad survey response

Heyyyyy team what do you say to guests who buy the protection plan prompted by POS in regards to activation of the plan? A guest asked how to activate it and I didn’t know what to say? And like how do they file a claim?

There's s website on the receipt I was told. They just put in the information on the receipt when they create an account. Then when the product breaks they contact the company. They will tell them they need to contact Target, the vendor or return the product.

Thanks that’s good to know

If you take a look at one of the portable tech protection plan paper things that should be at each register it’ll tell you all the info

they dumped most of them at my store

I kept a stash and made copies and use it when I train new cashiers now

Do I need to register or activate my SquareTrade Protection Plan?

Registration is not required, until a claim needs to be filed. Registration needs to be done online at squaretrade.com/target.
Do I need to register my plan?
Registration is purely optional and can only be completed online. This is a way to provide copies of the purchase receipt so that all this information is available if you need to file a claim further down the road.

Don’t worry if you haven't registered yet! If you need to file a claim later, you will be prompted to provide all information needed to register. Click here if you need to file a claim.

Please note, you cannot register your plan over the phone because we need you to create a password.
What does a SquareTrade plan cover?
SquareTrade Protection Plans covers all mechanical/electrical failures that happen during normal use, such as button failure, depleted (non-replaceable) batteries, and non-responsive charging ports or audio jacks. Plans that include accident protection also cover damage from accidents like drop and spills.

If a protected item is damaged and we determine it can be repaired, we cover 100% of the cost of parts and labor. If your item is irreparable, we’ll contact you to discuss options for replacing your item. Coverage lasts for the term of your plan or until the coverage amount of your plan (generally equal to item purchase price) is used up.

What's not covered by a SquareTrade plan?
SquareTrade Protection Plans covers all mechanical/electrical failures that happen during normal use, such as button failure, depleted (non-replaceable) batteries, and nonresponsive charging ports or audio jacks. • Products intended for heavy commercial or industrial use

Guest: I want to return this open air bed

Me: sorry according to our policy you have to exchange it

Guest: I WANT A MANAGER

Manager: yeah no it’s in our policy

Guest: no one reads that!!

Like ok SUSAN i don’t care if no one reads it it’s still our policy maybe you should start reading it
We used to have a sign up in the air mattress aisle but I think an angry guest ripped it down

oh no we do too but the guest said it didn't matter since the cashier didn't tell him at the time of purchase like I'm sorry buddy it is ON YOU if you don't read our policy
yep plus I think it says on the receipt “same item only if opened” like I don’t see how we could make it any easier for them besides writing it on the box. It’s not like they listen to anything the cashier says anyway

shoutout squaretrade for wanting to insure electronic toothbrush heads that someone bought yesterday, because thats totally something someone wants protected for two years.
SquareTrade once prompted me to ask if a guest wanted a protection plan for a box of tampons, so I believe it. The guest and I got a good laugh out of it, they even joked “Only if it protects my clothes from leaks!”

Square Trade has an app they can download to keep track of everything they buy plans for.

Only music movies and video games say that I think. But air mattresses should. Seems like something to my support.
