I'm sorry, but do you just pretend to be dumb, or...I knew you meant walmart.
Have you seen the notices by the time clock about flu shots? I saw it today when I clocked in and it said something about how Target is already going to offer free flu shots in fucking August because they're worried about the CVS pharmacy. It said something about how team members need to take advantage of the free flu shots because once CVS officially takes over the pharmacy the flu shots may not be free for team members.
This is going to be a colossal failure. Epic fail. So the sale isn't even going to be finalized until the end of the year? I read an article about the sale and it said the sale don't be finalized til the end of the year. Does that mean we won't see CVS pharmacy store signs until 2016?
I hope the sale collapses.
The only thing this absolutely tells us is that we don't yet know when the conversion will happen, when offers to staff can be made, when rebranding will begin, etc… so the rumours of "this begins in september" or "this begins in 2016" can so far only be speculation.
Me too. I think this was a lazy way of making up the losses in Canada, but will really harm the company long term.
How will it harm the company? The pharmacy LOSES money. CVS takes over the pharmacy; then Spot stops losing money on the pharmacy. Yet Target gets the foot traffic generated by CVS and gets rent from CVS on top of that! It's really a sound business decision if Target is going to stay in business.
How can you say "a fraction of what it is worth" when it is LOSING money?Target sold it for a fraction of what it is worth and the "rent" is basically negligible when you consider how much money is involved in the deal. Many guests who were loyal to Target pharmacy are not going to stay with CVS. Our store's pharmacy has been flooded with complaints because CVS has a shitty reputation.
Yes, it may have been $4 billion in sales, but it was still losing money. Most likely because we are paid better than other pharmacy employees at other stores, our prices were lower than other pharmacies, and we weren't regularly "short-staffed." Of course, under CVS, that is all going to end. It's already starting....hours have been cut across the board, even in areas where script counts are up 10% or more. Prevailing thought is that CVS has agreed to keep hours stable for a predetermined amount of time and Target is lowering them to levels that are "comparable" to current CVS stores with similar script counts.
Was it losing money, or was it helping gain money by getting guests in the store at the same time as building guest loyalty?
Pribably convenient for some to get their meds and grocery shop on the same day.
