Softlines setup is so dumb. How much time is wasted by all the teams that are involved in that area having to roam around finding where each item is because nothing is freaking located?
A lot.

I agree. But, my soft lines knows where the stuff is when I can't find it:)
Softlines knows where stuff SHOULD be. I do too after working FF for this long. The problem is when it's not where it should be.

Our air pillow machine is malfunctioning. Someone replaced the sealing band and it's now (I think it was before too) stripping/tearing the sealed ends off of the bags and they're getting caught/rolled up/melted to the lower roller. I contacted CSC and called the service number on the machine but didn't get an answer from either. The Pregis number told me there were no techs available at the moment and that they'd call me back. CSC said order bubble wrap and call the Pregis number.

We went up to 150 orders this week and only have two rolls of bubble wrap. I could order more, but in the 10 days it takes to receive a SAP order I hope we could get this fixed.

Oh I had thought that these were things that were shipped to you without air pillows.

Yeah, I had it when I have to waste tons of packing materials on weirdly shaped products. I've had to waste a lot of air pillows on large boxes simply because of slightly too big diaper boxes or things that are just a bit too tall. It sucks having to stuff a 285 full of air pillows because of an oddly shaped and light-weight item.
Whenever I have a multi item order with a diaper box, I split the order so the diaper can be SIO

Ours does the same. I have to call the tech as well but since we having a visit I'll be doing it next week. One workaround we found works is setting it to 10 seconds or less and pulling the bubbles as they come out. Already talked to stl who said if after tech it still doesn't work I can order a new machine since standing there pulling bubbles is not the most productive.

Is the sealing band still intact? Try flipping it over.

Pregis is useless and won't call back (in my experience). Keep calling them, and possibly do your own research on third party techs in the area

If you have an office supply store nearby, get an ETL to go buy some bubble wrap. (The alternative is trying to get your orders shut off)

Aside from that one guest calling me a pervert, today went swimmingly for a change. It seems like yesterday's team picked a bunch of today's workload so there were only 16 batches when I came in, and with 6 team members we were done by 10am, barring any rush orders that dropped in after 11. After that we more or less were split up with two of us helping backroom and three helping out our receiver while the sixth kept picking. We loaded up the sweep trailer, backstocked everything we could, set the line surprisingly early, and now our reverse logisitics/line area look beautiful if you discount the pipo pallets left over from last night's double. I'm loving these SFS shifts, it's like a vacation from the Backroom.

The band is intact, I tried flipping it over. No change. It runs okay for about 10 or 20 seconds and then it starts to tear and jam. You can smell the plastic melting.

Pregis called me last night on my cell, I wasn't going to answer it while not at work. I'll try them again tomorrow. We might order some bubble wrap, or call another store to see if they have some. I'll see what it looks like when I go in tomorrow.

i changed our band after the last one ripped. are they orderable on SAP. i tried looking but nothing comes up

Hey I'm just curious if anyone is having glitches with orders lately...I know a couple of days ago collates didn't print for some of our carts so we had to call about it... and now our orders are really low for some reason... we only do a 120 orders for the past couple of days

120 per day or 120 over the course of the past couple of days? Because we've had a fairly low amount of orders as well, but I figured that was just a drop in online sales. Only issues that we have been having are collates not printing for certain items (always the same item), but that's fairly minor. For the past two weeks orders have been light enough that we will typically finish early and we'll use our time to clean up the line area and help out backroom by updating sections of the steel, backstocking leftovers from overnight, setting the line, etc.

BRLA is at an almost all-time high here atm.

Collates not printing hasn't happened in a few weeks and our orders are steady without any noticeable increase from the higher cap.

Are you noticing your orders come to a definite stop at a certain point (like they hit a cap)? Or are they just dropping slowly all day and all evening?

They just been dropping very slowly usually when I close there is like 180 to 200 something batch orders for due tomorrow but now it has been like 20 to 50.. it has been 120 orders a day

The limit affected us drastically here. We were way under 50 a day. Trickled in like that first couple days in June. Now we are over 100. Do you think they scheduled 2 of us a day? Pfft. No. ETL AP only got the email like 2 weeks ago about the order increase... I think I hit like 130 today but so many INFs. Was like 95 packed. ETL GE and PC TL helped pull. PC TL and the weekend receiver helped pack. I had to extend my shift from 5h45min to 8h45min. We don't have time to touch the flat with STS orders on it either. I wanted to get that done.

@H2Owned @brizzy93

I guess the orders are just more spread out now that there is a higher capacity across the whole system.

I suspect that ESFS TMs are going to have a lot of downtime while the SFS stores that made the jump from 50 to 100+ are going to be scrambling for a while.

I don't really see the point of this since there was no increase in demand to go along with the higher caps...its just spreading things out a bit more.

Has anyone else noticed SPU orders dropping in that give you two hours to pick the order instead of just one hour?
Yes, nobody at my store knew why when I asked. At first I thought it was for SL stuff because that is harder for most people to find.

We have the best softlines team in the district were told. It's near impossible to find a non located item for flexible fulfillment but all I've gotta do is ask one of the girls in softlines and bam! They always know right where it will be
