hi friends! c: just joined been googling a bunch of stuff ever since i got my offer (i totally thought i BOMBED after the first interview question, felt so ashamed cus i tried soo hard and prepped for hours i wanted this job so badšŸ˜ pays 5 more hrly than my last god im so happy they still wanted me.) when i tell you Nothing could be worse than my last job, besides maybe like, cleaning septic tanks, i am so serious.

originally i applied for seasonal overnight inbound but they gave me a perm food&bev instead which i hope is a good sign they liked me ? šŸ˜ heard they chuck a lot of noobs in there cus nobody wants to do it but idm a heavy workload. my orientation is next week so im excited

ive read a lot of mixed opinions about working food&bev, but honestly i really love physically taxing work and dont mind it at all. for this kind of pay id work as sisyphyus idc. i applied as overnight initially cus i really could just not stomach another job where i was constantly helping and talking to guests every 5 seconds, im a really introverted person. i dont mind it that much its just when its every second of every day i Cannot do it my last job took a part of my soul with it every night i just wished someone would throw me in the trash compactor

ive heard its pretty minimal guest interaction tho which is all i really cared about, hope thats true lol. i had a super floppy 2024 and i was so drained after my last job i didnt even end up working that year, i hope this can be something good for me cus it actually sounds like something id really love. also an entire forum board for employees is so silly lol ive never seen smt like this before i love it. sorry for the long post but. yeah hey everyone ^_^

Welcome. Continue to do your research in All Aspects of Spot (Target). Ask plenty of questions (Here is a good place to start) and Learn From as this Space has a Wealth of Knowledge from former employees to current.

There likely will be substantial customer interaction working in market. I did market, Ad Set, pushing quite a bit and it was fine. Help them find some nice olives and salad dressing and they will appreciate it. You will as well. Enter with an open mind, no negatives.

Once the store is open and you are out on the floor there may be more than minimal guest interaction. Some stores require all team members from every department to be cashier trained. Your store may require you to train for cashier to help during busy times. Just warning you there may be more guest interaction than you think.

You may also be asked to train drive up which is a lot of guest interaction. I work drive up and when we get busy itā€™s all hands on deck. We do have grocery team members who come to help when needed.

Welcome. Most days I don't hate my job. It's never fun, easy or enjoyable but it pays my bills I guess. Set a good pace but don't overextend yourself. The goals are actually impossible so don't take it personally when you fail to hit them

I was making a bale one day and the asshole TL came back and she, a useless piece of garbage who never made one, told me that I should be doing something else while the baler is compressing. Fuck off............. You'll be fine, just pay attention to what you read here, pace yourself, be punctual and don't talk too much. NEVER get tangled up in politics. Line the mustard and salad dressing up real nice and help the customers. Most of them are nice folks.

We had a regular customer middle age lady every single day just go up and down every aisle, chatted with all the TM's, raved about certain Target items etc. She was fun.
