Early afternoon today I went to our local Target to pay my Red Card bill and get a few small items from grocery. The store was busy. There were only a few registers open. SCO was packed with a line. Staff cuts?

In the 2 years since I switched from SETL, I've seen my store go from 1+1 being an actual thing to frequently having huge lines with like 2 cashiers when we need 5. Service is not a priority anymore, and that worries me because that is one of our few advantages. We're becoming little more than a name.
Wild that they're less than 20% of my store's sales (I assume that's typical) and take up so much payroll. I feel like they were banking on hitting over 30%.
As the customers eviscerate the profit margin via SCO. Let it rip! Idiots. All 6 SCO's jam packed, everyone in a hurry, one attendant running their ass off,, perfect storm to do some high dollar scan skimming. A smooth operator can steal a whole lotta shit in a matter of minutes.
