I just wanted to see what Price Change looks like at other stores. I'm not sure if I am just overwhelmed or if my store is doing some things wrong.

How many people does your store have for price change? My store has one for the GM side and one for the Style side and that's it. We sometimes get a little help with heavy workloads but the the two of us are responsible for all the PC.

My second part of this is how does your store handle clearance/salvage in the backroom? Both of us have to pull our own liabilities which is where we struggle on the GM side, there is never enough space to put it all to the floor and it ends up salvaging in the back. Sometimes my ETL tells me to pull and palettize the clearance so we can just salvage it when it goes.

The last part of this is the dollar spot/bullseye items. They have their own section in the backroom but none of it gets located. So, every time some of it salvages the GM PC TM has to go through every aisle of it (It is the moveable aisles, so short aisles but still a lot of stuff) and scan every box to see if it is salvage or not. I've told my TL and ETL that it isn't safe (some of the boxes are up on tall shelves and we only have a step ladder in that area) but nothing has been changed. I think last time stuff went salvage in that area I pulled 5 or 6 pallets worth of stuff out of there. It took all day, even with my TL and the usual Bullseye TM helping.

Thanks ahead of time for your input. And sorry if this was a thread somewhere else, I didn't see it.

This is a good topic to talk about, and one in which I suspect many stores struggle. As the Process Simplification Team Lead, or GM TL with Cross-Area Ownership, or as I prefer to call myself, Merchandise Operations Team Lead, I actually tell my store director what I expect my hour allocation needs to be two weeks in advance based on workload planning. Then, based on what price change workload forecasts looked like, and what they actually are, I dedicate whatever resources are necessary to get the job done within my "Presentation" workcenter. It's not a static number. Regardless of set workload, I will assess the total workload that needs to be accomplished and split my assets evenly to accomplish said tasks.

Usually one for GM/Food and one for Style with specialty lending support during heavy weeks (like we have now). We will add a specialty TM under the GM bucket to support.
