Hello, any backroom help. I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong with locating water pipo pallets. I locate then when it sends us to pull. It asks to pull the whole pallet, so normally I tell my team just to send 4 cases of water then locate the remaining, which is the capacity of the location, but normally it doesn't all go out. Now I've validated counts on the floor, updated capacity. Changed groupings, but nothing works. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks
our grocery team jusy locus entire pallets and takes them out

Has anyone notice yet another new fill option? Looks like it fills to capacity. Yikes can't wait for my ETLs to get 'drop a batch' happy!!!!

Already happened. It was a mess and took hours and I do mean hours to pull all the shit she dropped. I worked a 7hr shift and they were still pulling when I left for the day and they started before I got there.

Guided research as far as aisles is gone and rigs are a big thing but they should have a sheet of areas they are supposed to hit each day. Remember 4x4? It is those areas same exact days as that.

Pain in the ass. Capacities are off, quantities are off, more than half of what they drop goes back. STL wants me to go through each aisle and correct caps and quans but I can spend a whole shift on one side of a valley because of how F-upped it is. Repeat after me: System guided Research fills the floor, not RIGS or dropping POGS.

I feel like we are so busy with RIGs and all this dropping this and that to show that we are 'on the program' that good old fashion research is being missed. I think we should focus on our bottom performing areas Do we have erroneous on hands? Do we have unlocated merchandise in the backroom? but instead it's fill! fill! fill! and the dreaded flex! flex! flex!

I had made a list for my team to follow. I dislike you way it is now though.

I feel like I am taking crazy pills.

Let's take an awesome idea ( TL's that "own" their departments, and shoot research & build end caps & otherwise fill the floor) and nix it.
Let's have brand team members that also help out, and then eliminate all of their positions.

Then let's struggle to maintain the "Brand" that Tar-jay once had.... by coming up with all this convoluted, crazy mess - when it was just fine the way it was.

Oh, that's right. Payroll. Corp doesn't want to pay for TL's and Brand tms anymore.

Yet - empty shelves are better? or a jacked up zone?

:waves at spot:

ETA: Don't miss Rain Checks, though. Those were a PITA , especially in domestics.
The worst was when the kids licensed bedding was on sale and the only thing you could sub for them were the few kids rugs. Whoever worked Sunday usually used most or all of them as subs and whoever did that area the rest of the week could only rain check and not be able to make a sub. Good times.

We have basically said fuck it, we shoot extra I tend to shoot the aisle I get a rig on. It really helps fill things out. Pisses off a lot of people cause the stuff goes out. But I couldn't stand the floor being so bare and empty. So they have learned to either give In-Stocks a couple more hours to push all this stuff or you better make sure they have a CAF pusher to work cause the batches will be huge. And we are not even trying to slam anyone its just that much stuff that needs to come out.

God Damn changing capcities takes way too long. I wish I could scan multiple items into a group and change all of their capacities at once rather than the scan, click, click, enter number, repeat. I'd invest more time into SFQ if it was better and more user friendly, but I don't think it's at a mature enough stage to really get too involved in.

The first version was better as well. Say the dcpi had four locations, all four would show up and you could change them all at the same time. . . . Now it's one at a time. And the MyDevices are slow so you have to wait until it actually works. I wish I could just pull the pog up on the computer and change them all on there instead.

Yes! The way it pops up and only lets you do Capacity one at a time is bullshit. It did used to be faster.

Seriously have no idea why they changed it. We had one MyDevice that would never update for some reason, and I would always try my hardest to get it because it was the old style.

Getting real sick of my instock team busting their butt and getting no recognition besides me shouting them out , while other teams are just simply doing their jobs. . . Base minimum and getting praised. In the last two days my team has essentially done a detailed 4x4 in half the store, and researched it. While pulling our own batches, pushing, and back stocking the overstock we pulled of the floor. It's insane. I'm buying them pizza tomorrow to let them know I appreciate them, but ot just seems crazy we can't get any love.

This is basically how it's been going at my store since the instocks TM quit and backroom TMs have been taking turns doing it. Scan the rigs, plus any outs in the area for about 5 hours. Go to lunch, come back and help finish pulling if needed, then "Hey LOD. There's 15 research pulls on the line."

@mobilelady was recently asking in the mydevice thread about any issues we face in the stores that could be solved by technology. You should post your idea in there so she sees it.

This isn't new. It's been an option when you scan the POG label to fill rather than the individual items. You are given the option to fill "needs", "capacity", "ad items", "all", and sometimes to purge d-code.

They actually just made a new way to drop manuals. Think it was released two or three days ago. It was on redwire. Haven't had time to lay around with it yet.

Yes I knew you could fill to capacity on items individually, it's the idea that my ETLs can fill an entire fill group with a simple click that makes me nervous because they don't always think things through! Right now they are just drop and fill, drop and fill but no one is thinking about the outs. No one is thinking about the amount of work that its creating for backroom. In my br we pull and back stock everyone's stuff. So imagine a major transition and the ETLs just dropping stuff. Our VML likes to drop POG fills when she leaves at night for her work the next day, we may or may not have time to pull because there is 1 closing backroom tm who is grabbing ff every 15 minutes and there is a truck the next morning. Let the system do its job. If there is something selling thru fast then anticipated then by all means lets get it to the floor!

Has anyone else noticed vendor products dropping into RIGs? Any thoughts on why?

From what I know, that means someone in your store has been scanning outs on those items. We aren't supposed to research vendor products.

Vendor items have recently started dropping in my RIGs too, and it doesn't seem like they had been scanned through.

Same here. Very annoying as well, as my team doesn't think to leave OH alone (or check the vendor steel to count accurately) so every single one ends up in the drastic and ignored or made to be a pain for me to verify.

No idea why, but, since vendor backstock is not located I just enter the capacity or on hand counts. If it comes up as a drastic, I delete it so it stays at the current count. I'm not going to go hunting down that product in the mess that is the vendor backstock area in my store.
