Should I call in?

I'm scheduled for cart cleaning on Saturday morning. However, I recently enrolled in a summer certification course, and one of the classes is on Saturday mornings. I was able to adjust my availability from the 2 week out and on, but this Saturday I am still scheduled. But I am also scheduled to be in the class.
I've already asked the closing cart cleaner if he could switch and he said he couldn't. I am never able to get anyone to take my cleaning shifts when I put them on the swap board either.

So should I bring this to my leaders attention so they can try to find someone to work Saturday, or should I call in for that shift? Otherwise, my attendance is in good standing. I don't want to miss my first class with this course. This would be the only day I'd have to call out from work.

Ask a friend to take it. Maybe a FOSA or cashier would like some hours and to help you out.

If you ain't gonna be at work and nobody takes your shift by the time you leave before that shift, you better call in.

Calling out is the responsible thing to do.
