MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

My endcap is up but the volume is so low you can hardly hear it, and the up volume button doesn't even work. They really went cheapo on them this year, I prefer the wooden versions.

Did anyone receive the electronic device that goes on the music end cap in seasonal?
Ours came in the week prior to set as usual, in fairly large box. It's cardboard this year instead of particle board, and the electronic bits are already pre-installed, assembly is basically to pull the two main sections out, and hook them them into the standard-like sides of an empty 3ft EC, making sure to make the cord accessible..

I haven't opened any of them, but it feels like there can't be as many as I expected. Maybe there are more shippers instead?
Started mine today. We have two boxes, the bins each. Feels like not enough. Two boxes of pallet signs, one box of headers, nop games bin, controllers bin. Everything else is shippers...

I'm putting up the Christmas, or whatever you politically correctly want to call it, signing tomorrow morning. Take those damn turkey and food signs down. I asked my pptl, and he said just do it.

Help!!! Can anyone give me a part number for the clear plastic piece that fits in the small appliance shelves bullnose? Not the one you need a Viking clip or white clip to hold it in place. It comes in a rolled up bundle. And for the love of god what goes in the back of the floor care bullnose? Not the dyson section. The rest of it! Pog is no help. Thanks!

No clue, random signing shift never had one until now, better ask someone what I'll be doing.
I was just looking back, I'm relatively new myself to signing but not to the game of what I'm doing. Just the direct process and what exactly is expected of me. Start looking at page 138 of this feed. It goes for a few pages of the "core role" and kinda how to do it. But you may need to find out what exactly you are doing. Are you helping? Being reassigned? Ad prep? ⬅️ Which I doubt too early in the week. They may have just used the label for a different job. My store does sometimes.

My guess is you will hanging sale signs since the new ad starts. Just read the location and product on the sign and place correctly. Boring but easy if you follow those two rules. Music is helpful.
Sunday 4amish? Definitely ad set. Signing hours are used for signing, ad prep and ad set. Hopefully you know the difference between a signing specialist (those who set the ceiling signs) and the people who just use signing hours (ad set and ad prep). Passed the old fart who does ad prep and saw he printed out a tag for "signing specialist" for his name tag....Grrrrr. Come out and do some real signing....or at least get the damn locations correct.

Yep those are two different people at my store.

Yup. He was a pity hire when his wife worked for us...he took over two tiny spots and pushed out the tms who actually did those jobs well....
I have to do both 🙁 even on the 100,000 hr weeks. Signing hrs are signing hrs. I got help for The dark Thursday/ Black Friday, plus following week deal. I'll admit it's nice to sit & get paid once a week tho. And no walkie static. 😎 But I get a few extra hrs that way too. I'm at almost 40. Plus I have a great schedule. Can't really complain.

I'd love to do both. I'd even live to give it back to my one fitting room operator who used to do them on closing nights at the fitting room. Instead I use sixteen hours each for the old farts. Which is over double what's allotted.

16 hours for each person or 16 hours between the two?
Either way I would recommend putting an end to that! I'm pretty sure the prep time for December 13 was 11 or 12 hours and I think I scheduled 14 hours.
I'm about to crack down on my ad prep team because they are milking the clock...

Each.

Yeah. And tls pretend they don't know why I only get 28.5hrs a week or 40 on a big transition...asswads.

My signing TM does ad prep too.

I finished my 1st signing shift all went great.
However, I couldn't for the life of me figure, where to put the medium sized sign on endcap.
I felt upset that I didn't finish 100%

Are you talking about the 7x11 signs? Those can pretty much go wherever you feel guests are most likely to see them.
