MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Our store the price acc and plano were supposed to be one lead, and they just now did it, im assuming wasnt so voluntary but they wont man up if they are having an issue say it dont talk trash behind her back and tell them to work slower so ive heard,
I see all sides from signing i think she is doing as best she can managing both teams but she lets me do my signing in peace so i love her lol but if i see it anymore and it irks me i was already asked by an etl who trusts me what the issue was but im saving it up

anyone's doormat aisle lose the doormat fixtures and go to 18" shelves? it still refers to printing the labels for the doormat label holders, but no fixtures are listed except shelves.

Our POG no longer showed the fixtures on it, but still referred to the labels, had no label strips, and nothing was communicated about removal in Transition Packet or early set notes. So we decided that they needed to stay up.

I'll my support it tomorrow...

ours added a 4th section of mats, no new fixtures sent, so we didn't have a choice. it actually looks nicer without the doormat fixtures, although its a pain to push downswept shelves with fencing.
we set over a hundred hours of pog today. and my stl is still complaining about payroll. we were underscheduled by 50 hours to begin with, then had to cut another 10 because of payroll. i dont know what they expect. plus they took another 40 hours of my payroll and gave it to softlines to do their adjacency. so, according to twt, the adj should take 40 hours. but they have 2 srtl and the etl working on it, plus a tm, and still aren't done. why isn't the stl crawling them? they spent 40 minutes trying to decide which side of an H rack to hang tshirts on today. bleh.

oh, almost forgot, be careful setting the sock walls in B/G. the lead ins change (check the transition notes), but the pogs are completely wrong to make it work. we had to set it reverse and backwards to get the tights and c9 where they wanted.

**nerd alert**

anyone else notice that a lot more of our stuff has been coming in doublewalled corrugate cardboard? more of a pain to break down, but some boxes have been withstanding their "packing" better because of it. nn

hba shampoo aisles... new backer, new "displays", new shelf talkers (and the holders are difficult to put on... make sure you put out the signing before your team puts up the dividers!).
anyone else think these displays could've been scrapped for... oh... i don't know... cheap signs and payroll?

Message board: Sponsors have noticed that many stores have not put up the NASCAR signs.

Darn, I knew I'd forgotten something in the process of trying to do my signing in half the hours needed.
Let me get right on that.

Missing about half of our curtain displays as well.

Our doormat aisle added 4' of mats, plano team set it with fixtures.

Didn't have enough outrigger holders for the Race outriggers, tried to order them, got an email saying they're back ordered (go figure.) I've got 20 outriggers not up because of that.

Got some late signing this week, why would you only send one side of the "men's body spray" outrigger?

Not looking forward to HBA...

i don't even have enough sign holders for Race. i have enough of the beige shelf holders - even the heavy duty magnetic - its the pegged ones i never have enough of

We were an early set, but we had to remove a gondola and reset the flat. I had to set the stack, grill and patio flat today. Plano didn't finish yesterday, so I got the task. I think it would have been easier if I had done it from the beginning then having to figure out where they left off and what mistakes were made. *sigh* I got everything completely lined up, filled and labeled. but still haven't got everything signed. I'm still always surprised how long it takes to sign the flat correctly...... Anyone have the part number for the umbrella clip on 3x5? Mine are all MIA....

Our STL spent a few hours putting together patio furniture today...I think he was doing it for his own enjoyment, honestly. He got to play with power tools and we got to answer all the guest calls! 😛 😉

our patio was all wrong. our floor map had sets that we didn't carry. we had a bunch of sets not on our map in our backroom. it was a charlie foxtrot.

**edit**
and the headquarters display sign batch was wrong too.

unless everything was right but they messed up our map. that would be an easier explanation, but a harder fix.

sorry greydot! hope you (and all other signies/poggies) get a couple days off to forget about patio 🙂

We get to forget about patio, but here comes HBA and cosmetics the week after.

Skip this if you don't want deal with yet another Break Room rant.
I'm sure most of you have better ways to start your weekend.

To start with I'd like to question the sanity of the person who decided to have the garden/patio set and the vacuum cleaner wall reset in the same week.
I don't know about you folks but it didn't help that along with building a ten new vacuums they decided to flip the entire frelling wall.

So at the beginning of the week I had a sit down with the STL and in a calm, practical manner explained how the cuts in my hours was making it impossible to do my job.
I clearly laid out what my concerns were and she responded so much better than I could have hoped for, by promising to give me the hours I needed to do the work and even increased my hours this week.
I was amazed and pretty damned impressed.
Than the other shoe dropped.
Today I was threatened.
Told that if my workload was not accomplished each and every week, now that I had the hours (and it doesn't matter that there is quite a bit of stuff left over from the weeks they weren't giving me the time), I would be written up.
Except for the weeks after the hurricane when I was building stuff in the frelling dark I have always kept up my workload.
This is payback pure and simple.
Maybe I should have expected it, should have known that by asking to be treated like a grownup I would be kicked in the teeth but I have to admit it hurt.
I have always given 100% and have always done the best possible work.

Caring about your work and not just throwing drek at the wall to see what sticks isn't valued.
I'm just going to keep at it and prove them wrong but they have killed any respect I ever had for them.

/end rant

Thanks for listening.

I am sorry, commie!

Commie, I'm so sorry they are treating you like this.

Start this now. Print out the signing adjacency hours as far back as you can and keep printing up every Monday. Keep this, just in case they do attempt to write you up. Having all your paperwork in hand should help.

Another thing. Building vacuums is built into the planogram persons hours, not yours. Nice to do it for them if we get ahead, but it is their job.

Dang, I HATE it when I hear of someone who obviously cares about their job being pushed around like this.

Don't forget that you also would need the Monthly Signing Update for non-planogram signs as well.

Pretty much how i felt when they say your great hard working great communication respected every tl and etl, but since you have never told someone to do something your n

Not tl material, i was going to drop f bOmbs c bombs it pretty much killed my caring. I love my new tl but they are making her consider quiting she tells me everything, as ive said before i think the former has an axe to grind, i actually used to enjoy my days even if i was worked like a dog, now its like what BS is going on today

I used to really care about the signing. Then, my PTL got moved. Then, the new PTL walked out. Then, my STL leaves. My new PTL is a nice guy but totally clueless. So, I give about 75% every day. Some days I work harder, like on the sun in rear, others not so much. I did get all the race outriggers put up. Target is really changing for the worse. Much worse. I wouldn't be surprised to see our store close within two years. Sigh ...

Buckwill i agree, i show up for my pricing/plano tl, she does what she can, the complain that she is doing pre ties/Plano planning and not pricing workload then they complain she isnt doing plano stuff, the old team lead seems to be trying to cause issues, and instead of helping he just talks sh1t behind her back, then they wonder why she isnt asking hime to take over the planning part, i cant wait till i get my other job stuff worked out

We have last years curtain displays, in a box, does that count?

I think you all need to get in that fixture room and doing some cleaning!!

Those curtains are displays and should have been tossed by the Plano team. I came in this morning and our old displays were already taken care of by the team and they would have hung the new displays....IF there were any!

I'm missing 105 displays. I'm going to cry if MySupport tells me I have to order all of them on TIPP.

They're supposed to come in the week of March 3rd. It was in the Executive Weekly News To Use to delay setting the domestics part till the end of the week. Of course, we didn't do that at my store, and our aisles are mostly empty, because we also don't have the product.
