Lol. I remember a seasonal calling off on Black Friday sale last year and then actually shop in the store that same day. All of her GSTLs saw her. Lol.
That was awful for you, redeye58. I hope she's not working as a GSTL anymore. But yeah, that was better. As a supervisor, she should have known better.
My store is now passing out fliers near the front for seasonal help (in late October, a week before the rush starts), we've never had to do that before. They're even putting starting salary for early morning flow on the flier (among non-*TLs, flow gets highest starting pay, but it's still weak considering the physical work you have to do).

Someone called our store to day to confirm her interview and said that she wanted to negotiate pay. Uh, you're a seasonal cashier with no job experience...what?
Spot has been doing that for a long time.
It really is a good practice.
If you bring in a friend the chances are it's going to be someone you halfway trust not to screw you over.
The store has a better chance of getting decent employees that way.

Yep, I convinced my buddy to apply for a backroom position and he just finished his orientation the other day, our ETL-HR was saying how much weight a referral carries 'round here. But she said that my name went a bit farther than others.
She also freaked out quite a bit about it. Now, what'll she say when my sister applies for a job?

Oh I know, but there is a big prize sitting in TSC with a sign attached to it saying "have a chance to win this for referring people to apply". I've never seen that at my store.
