If she were smart she would throw it back on spot for hiding her product, cause it shouldn't have been.
I told her to talk to her bosses about this because yeah, pretty much my store's fault here. We'll see what happens; she took the more recent expired product back and left the August stock for later. Kind of shitty because I was getting along pretty well with her and this probably poisoned the well.

We had a similar thing happen with Frito-Lay a couple months ago, only it was ~8 cases of chips that had come on a GM truck as cross product (or whatever the term is) for a Superbowl. All over a year old and the vendor didn't touch any of that, said it was ours to deal with.

Backroom TL's response when I called him over about this? Pretty much "maybe we should teach vendors to use a MyDevice or PDA and check the backroom themselves." Because teaching our rotating crew of backroom TMs and random TMs drafted help out the backroom would be too hard I guess.

Well if you have a good CTL or PA they should periodically be walking backroom aisles for this very reason. Vendor product accidently gets backstocked sometimes.

Didn't happen during my shift but Wednesday night, two cashiers were escorted out by police officers. Stealing out the register. What a couple of fucking idiots.

This happened at our store too! Target doesn't play around, they will catch on eventually and they will call the cops.

Know what's fun? Trying to load a sweep on a truck day. Get to spend my time mopping the trailer to clean up a literal pool of syrup, removing flow's trash carts and cages so I can load my stuff, deal with vendors pissed off and confused by the grocery transition, remove flow's trash carts and cages from the trailer again, sort through 28 UPS packages to find the three that aren't CVS Pharmacy conversion stuff, try and get the wet bales back inside (and mostly failing) remove more trash from the trailer and oh look its 2:30p. Now I get to finish the rest while dealing with a even more vendors than today!

But at least the ETL-LOG is on vacation so I can rearrange receiving however the hell I like. Until he comes back and decides I'm doing it wrong.

I have a CTL who is also the only hardlines TL we have now and our PAs? One's busy trying to keep the salesfloor afloat and the other idunnolol. All I've got is me and a backroom TM who knows enough receiving to spot vendor product.

So what I'm saying is that two months from now I'm going to find by my desk a tub of vendor stuff from the clusterfuck of a grocery transition that got backstocked.

I just found a box of frit lay chips from last Q4. It was the chocolate covered chips. I thought I got those chips out of my backroom already. I am afraid to talk to the frito guy about it. I keep finding stuff unlocatted in the backroom. I already talked to the BR ETL about it.

We're going on the third week now of finding that one vendor's product in the backroom. Because nobody told the overnight grocery transition team what to do with it so they stuck it on one of their backstock vehicles or something. So now I have a shopping cart of coffee to go through to find what's expired, what isn't and just for good measure, double check that none of it is backstocked. Because I am fucking tired of this shit. I'm getting some help from the salesfloor TL (holy shit he has been so much help with vendors and finding their product wherever the hell POG puts it after the reset) but I'm not looking forward to more tears when the vendor comes in :(

Also if anyone has any theories as to why a half-dozen boxes of the old boxcutters are doing in an ESIM back on my desk, I'm all ears.

Hrtm told us the other day they are no longer brand to use and we'd better hide them if we still had some. I'm guessing a memo came to throw them all away.

Cool, would be nice if whoever did this left a note or told me. Not like I was going to toss them anytime soon (if anything, I'm planning to stash a few boxes away for future use) but people dropping shit at my desk without an explanation bugs the everliving daylights out of me.

We haven't been able to use them for ages. It' so annoying because the "brand" box cutters they were replaced with are always falling apart && anytime I work a dayside shift if I'm not in there way before open there aren't any available. Im often trying to open boxes with whatever I have - a pen, my keys, etc. I have an older tm whom i adore that secretly keeps their old box cutter on them when they work . . . I'm not one to tell cause I know they are safe & responsible. And they just want to be able to do their dang job...

I have a case of them plus a case of just replacement blades in my desk. Cause I'm one of the few that insist on a sharp knife. I have two new ones, but they tend to catch on everything.

DO NOT use your keys, you will fuck them up.

Today a vendor broke into tears when she found out that several months ago somebody backstocked a shitton of her product and its just recently been found and pulled. And put on the shelf. She ended up with two basket's worth of coffee, with some of their sell by dates going back to August 2015. I'm fuzzy on the details of what she was talking about in between sobs but I guess this comes out of her paycheck or something.

That pretty much brought my whole day down :(
Yeah, I had a vendor frantic when we moved some stuff around because he thought we threw it out. And he said it comes straight out of his pocket.

FDC pallets didn't go back on today's truck because somebody (my money's on some fuckwit my ETL) put them high up in the transition steel. And lol if you think the team that doesn't always remember to fill out the FDC paperwork or acknowledge the truck is going to go through the effort to get those down. Oh well, there's always the next truck. Or the one after that. I think one of these trucks we sent back a 5ft stack of pallets back because nobody gives a shit.

Flow TL told a TM to just throw several carts and a cage of cardboard into the compactor because said TM only had 10 minutes left on his shift. My reaction of 'what the fuck" was met with "Do you want do take care of it then?" ahahahahahaha. In a fit of madness I gave that TM my keys hoping he'd maybe use the baler. Nope! I got them back and the compactor key was twisted because he couldn't figure out how to use it.

Oh, and there's a Monarch gun in the electronics stockroom. Sitting in a waco of Xbox games. Its been there at least two days now.

The most dangerous knife is a dull one..
I wish Target would stop hiring so many of them...

As part of today's (three days early) sweep I sent back a pallet with one bag of dog food and a BoL with five different water DCPIs scribbled on it. That's right: a single bag. As part of some convoluted attempt to fix the "my bosses thought sending several pallets of water on a sweep without setting up transfer because the DTL said they could" fiasco. I don't know if it'll work. All I know is I could have spent today doing so many other things like maybe clawing my way out from "worst store for MIR completion."

Instead I got to spend today trying to load a trailer which flow was trying to fill with trash whenever I turned my back. Whatever.

Our receiver pulls down the trailer door if he starts loading the sweep while flow is still bringing back trash. They'll probably just pile the cages right in front of the door...but at least it's not as hard to clear a path.

...that's freaking genius. That or using those bars the DC puts up to try and keep things from falling out when you open the trailer door. Though I should probably have a chat with the flow-TL about "hey can you actually have somebody working on trash the whole time instead of letting it pile up" first.

I'll add it to my ever-growing list of things to do.

EDIT: Shit, forgot flow also leaves their line in there because there's nowhere else to put it until trash is done and/or the front of the line is clear of PIPOs and backstock). And that's half the bottleneck for me when loading the sweep.

Ah that one can be a pain in the ass if there isn't any other place for it. Ours gets moved to the back side of the line immediately after the unload.
