Went through the Business College class that talked about unions recently and I have to say they immediately taught us tactics how to 1. Avoid the topic with TM's, 2. Lead the conversation in such a way that the TM thinks unions sound terrible, and if not possible 3. Contact LR team.

I never knew Target had a whole team devoted to Labor Relations (avoiding a union).

Every major retail company has a version of the union busters on staff.
There are also free lance companies that can be brought in that specialize in taking out organization efforts, usually disguised as law firms.
Nasty bunch.
