Vml- heres something- standard wise im seeing in some targets-many un even rack heights- lack of gridding within dept and sometimes racks triple " kissed" together-are these " opportunities i can look at improving ?

If you can get all the merchandise that's currently out on the floor and lower the racks. DO It. It looks better. Unfortunately they want everything on the floor which means the only way you can go is up. Both sides of the rack should be the same height though. By triple kissed do you mean all 3 racks pushed together? I've only seen them do that with xhilaration towers in kids recently..

They were triple" kissing" 3 long racks together of yoga pants

So all 3 racks were physically connected together with fixtures? Yeah we only do that when theres too much clearance and not enough racks. Maybe take pictures next time you're there. Triple kissed is never a word I've heard used.. lol

Triple connected- sorry- also- isnt it wiser to utilize front fixtures with faceouts- all denim dept was on long fixtures jet rail style in front of store

How about" wallscaping in departments- can u break up walls with a rythm of side hanging and faceouts?

Anything on the walls should maintain the same height. You can have a section double hung and not the other though as long as the top height is the same all the way down. I have seen a mixture of fixtures used on the back wall. (The adjacency always calls for face outs but sometimes all those jeans just look better side hung.)

Yes front fixtures you want to generally put your most appealing denim on faceouts and the more bland ones in the back on a long bar. Again the adjacency will probably say face outs but if you can speak to why you changed the display of the rack it would probably be OK. (Their reason was probably to keep all the jeans on the floor and no back stock. Instead of focusing on presentation)

Anytime I do something different than what the adjacency says, I note it in the book. I'll write that the product hasn't arrived or I didn't have the correct fixtures. I also put a checkmark next to the clothing we do have.

Get a binder and Carry all the adjacencies in it. Keep it located in the fitting room or someplace local so it is easily accessible

Expect anywhere between the hours of 6am-530pm depending on the store. Mine would be 6-230. But you would rotate weekends and have one closing night (it's not official.. but it's what's being said about most stores)

Possibly it depends on business needs for that particular store. That is definitely a question for the HR

We are a mall attached store also

A lot of your questions really need to be addressed by your own store's HR or STL. We can't answer what time they will have yo working, or if they can work with your commute.

Did they appreciate your "experience" and let u really dig in and use your judgment when you first came on? Also do you do weekly walk thrus with mgmt?

You will be taking pictures on targets device and emailing them to district from what I understand. Your sales floor ETL may choose to do weekly walks with you or they may just look themselves and call anything out that needs attention

No I was just offered VMTM today. I'm currently price change at target and do a lot of merchandising already so it's not too much of a difference. The only problem is I don't care for my future (possible) VML that much but getting off pricing sounds really good.

Me and her have been talking about the position for months in secret. I knew better than to run against her.. they keep interviewing externally but they have pretty much guaranteed her the position and are only doing the interviews for the books.
