In my store, we are on our fourth.
Go to hardlines... Haha but seriously I'm in seasonal a TON and I'm Hardlines about 40% of the time... I send out a weekly email to all the leaders detailing what I worked on during the week since I typically work alone. Leadership and the team knows that I am not just another SLTL.How do you guys deal with every leader grouping you in with softlines?
Probably puts on a good front for leadership. The girl that got the position over me, a tm that store was telling me she doesn't trust her stylist team and does everything herself. Doesn't give the appropriate appreciation to her team. All me me me and not we we we. Yet I can't pass my bench interview for the same thing 😵
Our first just started this week. Outside hire, never worked for Target prior. Management at a few clothing retailers. I don't know what degree she has. Instant TL, but the way you folks talk, sounds like it's nearly ETL pay with first grade TL responsibility. Do they have SAP access? Keys?
Why does this not surprise me 🙄😱That's the whole issue with the vml position. Target wants people with experience in it so they hire almost strictly externally. These people who come in and dont get target culture so you get someone making 17 to 20 dollars an hour. Who is surprised their job entails backing up the lanes and helping with softlines push.
It would make sense to hire internally and
I am at an AA+ volume store now and we are looking for our 5th vml (mind you it's a 2ish year old position)
No team, too.
End to end makes team members, brand team members at half the cost🙁
So, about that "no Team" thing....... Initially, as a VMTL, I was responsible for the BTMs at my store. But as things have changed w/ the A&A E2E roll-out, the entire A&A Team reports to the Softlines TL. Okay, no problem, I'm cool w/ that. However, I keep hearing that the BTM role is done. Finito. No More. 🙁 All Softlines TMs are now all A&A TMs --- equally. Any truth to this??? I thought the BTM role was a great stepping stone to the TL position down the road. How is this supposed to make them feel? They aren't in an elevated TM position any longer?
.I am guessing BTM stands for Brand Team Member, otherwise I have no clue this position ever existed here.
My #1 thing I request from Target with this roll out is that bring back Specialist positions. If they were ever needed, now is the time.
However, I keep hearing that the BTM role is done. Finito. No More.
It's a raise. VMs do less work in general so you get the same for lessI've just had interview with DTL for our small volume store ($35 mill) for VM position. I was /am SF TL for A&A and have been for over 2 years. My HR just informed me that there would be no pay increase as both positions are pay grade band H40.......I'm beyond disappointment.
Any suggestions on how to proceed or what a realistic pay would be.
former vm promoted to sr tl over softlines.I
It's a raise. VMs do less work in general so you get the same for less
Not a raise. Same paygrade.I
