OK....now I've checked the list that provided the districts involved. My store district is not listed, but my group is.
Today I asked an LOD about the store modernization process and he hadn't heard of any of the things that have been mentioned here. So, redandkhaki is probably on the right path....we're doing some things to get a bit prepared for when more of this comes out by 2019 Q2.

there is one district in every group involved.

I've dealt with restructuring BS at other companies before. It always causes a mass exodus, generally of many of the best workers, and pisses everyone off for at least several months. Everybody is miserable. Every little thing that happens becomes "an ordeal." The more of this thread that I read, the more this just keeps repeating in my head:

I call bullshit. Sales floor can't even get their truck completed or the zone done.

Sales floor does it now.

How does this translate for larger volume stores, the ones who keeps their ON?
65 million or higher will have overnight.
I agree that this will roll out much smoother for stores that already made the E2E transition in grocery, A&A, and beauty. Not having to deal with moving a big chunk of flow dayside means one less change to make. For stores that have already done that, flow won't change much at all (although for pilot stores, they moved the sales requirement to be overnight up. Company wide it's $65M to be overnight but with this pilot it's $72M. So some stores will have to transition to 4am/6am on top of this - I don't envy the leadership team that has to make that announcement)
Thanks

I would share your optimism if E2E hadn't fallen flat on its face at my store

My store had to transition last week. It is a nightmare. I transferred from another store that had to go dayside last year. They are completely e2e and it is ridiculously bad over there. Not that the tl and etl don't do the right things and bust their asses every night, but the store is (was at this point) too high volume. They barely come clean every day. No time (or devices) to scan everything so the store looks like shit more and more every day. With my current store, we'll have to double the staff to finish everyday. Not to mention nobody reads labels or scans so in just one weeks time, a ton of stuff is being pushed wrong. We're not coming clean because we're not staffed for it. We're sitting on a full truck from earlier in the week plus we didn't push half of tonight's truck because we had too many callouts. Today, I had to tell 3 different guests we didn't have something they were looking for that showed we had in stock. Why? Because it's sitting somewhere waiting to get pushed. I can just imagine all the sfs orders not being filled either. This is the dumbest idea ever. Small store can handle it, but $50+ are going to fail miserably. Sales are falling fast at my last store. Guests don't want to guess how much things cost and they certainly don't want to shop where it looks like a clearance center.

How in the world does Target see this working out better? I think someone making these decisions is betting we will fail so they could cash in somehow... maybe they own Amazon/Walmart stock?

I don't believe small stores can handle it either. They have less business yes, but they also have so much less payroll then we do. It just doesn't work. Test stores need to tell the truth and not sugar coat it to make their store look good. That only hurts us all.

Corporate would just blame the teams at the test stores, though. Telling your district VP that the new process didn't work is like admitting to a NKVD officer that you didn't clap long enough after a Stalin speech.

I wonder if there will be ways to further specialize as a "general merchandise expert".
"Now that I have done all the core training modules done, I think I want to go for my degree in laundry hampers. They say there isn't a lot of money in it but I just want to do it for the love of the product."

Here’s my truth: Right now, we’re still in limbo. Our back room looks like a nightmare (and I do not blame the BR team). We are losing one TL and the one inheriting that area is not up to it. One of the Sr.TLs is not happy and taking it out on everyone else. (I sympathize with their feelings, but the rest of us are not metaphorical punching bags.) No one seems to know what’s going on. One person says one thing, another something else, and all manage to be vaguely threatening.

In short? So far, it sucks.
