How the hell do transitions work if they're not all being done at once? Are they backstocking it instead of trapping it, or waiting the entire week until everything is set before they try to push it?
They don't. I saw that live my last month. Oh just to let people know, It took them an extra two weeks to get the transitions done in my store and they are just now into christmas lighting set.

If it's like my store its on pallets and vehicles scattered around the store, some does get backstocked if what we have left of the backroom or backroom flow actually get their hands on it to backstock it.

And yes @jenna you can be months behind on price change, its just sits in the back and only gets touched when someone stumbles upon it, or it floats around on a vehicle until someone actually wants the vehicle then will chuck on the salvage pallet or most likely drop it in the receivers lap and make her deal with it. Like she doesn't have enough crap to deal with.

And there is so much salvage floating around now, the GSTL told the cashiers just work out some price within reason the guest will agree with and sell it..
The standing rule was, take it to guest service and you pay the last price (ie the 70% off price)

We still have a price change team (and I'm not an old lady 😉) but we just do hardlines, labels, and the GS bin. Softlines is way behind, but we stay green. Well, except for backroom ticketing. We are lucky if it gets pulled once every few weeks. Most of the time it's 90% salvage by then. Our TL recognizes it's not our fault though, we have requested to be trained to pull our own batches but so far it's been ignored.

a momentous occasion has occurred we now have 8 pallets of clearance*, 2 Pallets of salvage. according to Edward J. Smith** we are doing great and just a few kinks to work out.

--

* some number of those pallets may or may not be ticketed already, also they may or may not or are 'bout to be clearance

** not the dudes real name Mr. Smith is/was the captain of the Titanic at the time of her sinking

My backroom PC batches are in the 200's. When I print out the PC backroom list it's now 6 pages. I've given up trying to get the PC backroom caught up since this rollout. It's been a struggle ever since they made the decision to not schedule a backroom closer. I tried asking My Support to adjust either the PC change drop times or even giving PC the hours to pull the batches...Guess what the response was, NO! Backroom hours have PC batches and bacstocking factored into their payroll. Well...I guess my store never got the memo!:oops::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Does anybody suspect that Target may be a sinking ship by wasting billions on a new operating model that does not work?
True but they are still high fiving each other about this model saying once we get the right team members in place it will be amazing. That's why they are so eager to fire people, they are the scapegoat to why it's failing. That takes the pressure of them a little bit till they are forced to work with what they are stuck with.

May they get a clue before they get a bankruptcy.🙄

Made a throwaway account for this since my other account on here would more then likely give me away.

AP is also going to something like this. Etlap->aps->tps now becomes ap leader->security specialist->security expert. This is for a super target so not sure about stores with just an aptl or other combinations.

The ap leader reports directly to their apbp and no longer to the stl. From what I heard Ap leaders will also focus exclusively on ap which means no more lod shifts or wearing red and khaki and being exclusively in plain clothes. They will be doing mostly mid shifts 9am-7pm, 12pm - 10pm, etc. Also heard that apbp will have more control and say over the security specialist (aps) and security expert (tps) scheduling. So far there is no updates on anything about what changes come to aps and tps but it sounds like it will be continuing the trend of more guest engagement stuff.
My etlap has a meeting later this week and hopefully will find out more.
.
We are already doing this. It's wonderful! Our new AP wears street cloths, reports directly to their leader outside store. No more puppet AP

Regardless of anyone’s opinion on the new process or the way target is doing things... bankruptcy is no where in sight. Company wide we are having one of the best years in company history. If we stay on track 2018 will be the best year target has had in a very long time.

But they think it's because the changes.... It's not, it's because the economy is booming ATM. Our store sales we're already steady rising before any selling training or modernization. Did they figure in the billions spent this year into the best year ever?

No I agree I wasn’t stating any opinion on the new process I was just saying target is no where near bankruptcy and will continue to be one of the worlds largest retailers for many years to come regardless of dumb idea they test.

Reward I say reward the people who count bonuses please.

That last sentence happened with me today whilst back-up cashiering. When something goes salvage and the guest still wants it, I just sell it for the lowest price that it last was if it’s reasonable. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I completely agree. Let guests find the greatest deal of the day lol. It gives them incentive to come back. Paid for by a guest is 100% better than sent back as salvage.

Exactly, it means we don't have to touch it again. Sell it cheap but within reason. Hell I give them more off the last price, if it was marked at a %30 off as the last listed price I make it %50 off and get it out the door. Or knock a dollar or fifty cents off cause I want it gone..

This. It's gonna be our biggest problem. Other than guest complaints there's not much that is going to convince corporate it's a failing model.

I don’t know. As much as I hate to admit it, the process works. It was seriously tested in all sizes of store for a good amount of time before rolled out so I mean yes it works. I also know test stores get the payroll and they’re more of a perfect world idea of a new process but for the most part it’s going pretty well at my store. We are a store that gets a couple doubles a week and 6-7 doubles a week durrinh peak so we clearly get a lot of freight. This new process was definitely tough at first as is any change ever but if you have the team willing to change and you follow the guide enough but tweak it to your store you absolutely can be successful. We were a store that never came clean and now we come clean frequently. Not only are we coming clean but we’re working clean too and our early morning guests have stopped complaining the store is a mess while they’re shopping. The process isn’t broken it’s the team and the leadership that breaks a process. If you have teams not willing to chnage or Leadership not holding the team to these new standards that will lead to a failing process. People can have their opinions but the process works.
