My new cart attendant is great he is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He is a rock star and whenever he gets caught up with carts and other various duties he'll either hop on register, work on bullseye, or reshop and zone around the store. I was talking to him a few days ago and found out he used to be a GSA and actually enjoyed the position and wants to eventually move back into a gsa position after his 90 days are up. So yesterday when I had to take my lunch and had no other gstl or gsa I had him cover guest services and watch the lanes. So I get back and he has defectives ready bullseye reshop is put up and zoned. So I'm happy and relieved him of the guest service hell(we where super busy and the lod wouldn't cover my lunch and the only other leader in the building was the hltl but he was by himself and already covering electronics). Later in the shift when my closing gsa arrived I went off stage a cashier comes to me and complains that the cart attendant was bossy and barking out orders. So I pull the cart attendant aside and found out that he had a guest that needed help in photo and he asked the other cashier who is also guest service trained (although she has the personality of a rock) to watch GS so he could take care of the guest. So according to her the person I put in charge during my absence who was trying to get a strategy in place so GS had coverage and the guest was taken care of was bossy and rude. And I did talk to other cashiers and all say the same thing which back his side of the story. So the part that annoys me the most is the etl GE and this team member wants the cart attendant wrote up and I refuse to so now the etl GE wants to write me up for not writing up someone I feel doesn't deserve a write up.

PS the etl GE doesn't like me at all because she is afraid I'll take her job and the fact I'm a SR gstl so I not only own the front end the stl DTL and rvp(during our last big visit) refer to me for everything dealing with the front end.

You did a 'seek to understand' & the others did not back up the cashier's claim so there's no compelling reason to write him up on the word of one person.
I'd talk to your ETL-HR & reiterate that you don't think it's right to damage a TM's record on another TM's say-so.

Exactly how I feel. During my 10 years in the Navy I learned that a leader needs to earn the respect of their team not demand it. I refuse to play politics at work nor will I allow politics to control my team

I don't do any write ups if I can't defend it. I've had 3 TLs and the etl GE try to get me to write up a few people and I've refused because I can't prove it myself

My previous job affords me very thick skin. I literally have and can send rookie meat home in tears during FTO.. so you ain't got nothing that is not been there done it lived through it.

Mine just called me "ummm....Pharmacy?" (To my face while I was wearing my name tag.) the other day to get my attention because she doesn't know ANY of our names!!! 🙄 And she's been there 2+ years!!!

Apparently one of the cashiers called out because they were in the hospital to which she replied "I do not care if you are in the hospital or not you are scheduled to work then you have to come to work". The cashier starts blowing up my phone scared she is going to lose her job.

I've been paid to be the wicked witch. Two night limit to cut the dead wood via voluntary termination...muahaha. It's really too bad target doesn't encourage such things...
