At our store they steal from other departments for OPU and DU. TLs and ETLs will do it even. Got enough hours up front for cashiers for once? Sorry nope we need to steal someone for OPU!
which is fine until the ETL starts getting on my ass for not moving fast enough as the sole cashierWell at my store the originated sales are way down and fulfillment is the only reason we're comping so those hours up front can be used for other priorities (including drive up)
I always loved Target's logic of cutting TM hours than having TL do that job at a higher hourly rate.Just heard yesterday from a TL about how closing TMs aren't able to do end-of-day pulls, either at all or doing them halfway and poorly, because they're doing OPU and SFS instead. My store's TLs and SD are picking and packing fulfillment orders all the time - it's not an unusual thing at all, especially at this time of year but during the rest of the year too.
Our Etls are doing the same. There's not enough freaking hours. People don't even want to pickup a few extra hours. I dont blame them. Thanksgiving week I work only 4 days and got paid holiday. I didn't want to work a 5th day.I always loved Target's logic of cutting TM hours than having TL do that job at a higher hourly rate.
The higher-paid person is there anyway. They just get pulled to do something else instead of what they would have been doing, and that thing just doesn't get done.I always loved Target's logic of cutting TM hours than having TL do that job at a higher hourly rate.

I hear people not wanting to stay or add days more and more now.people just don't want to deal with mental drain of rollercoaster hours and trying to fit their life around it. They ask people to stay longer that day which is more hours but that means they have to cancel plans and disappoint someone again. They have to scramble to find someone to pick up their kids, or they have to reschedule appointments and so on. Or the next week it's begging for people to leave early or on their backs to finish earlier so they can leave earlier really makes them feel like their getting the bums rush. Our Etls are doing the same. It's what, an extra $2/hr? At least when I started that's what they told me it wasI always loved Target's logic of cutting TM hours than having TL do that job at a higher hourly rate.

They're always out before a major holiday. They're supposed to be celebratory recognition visits. We had some of the group team in a few days ago handing out candy and were supposed to have the district team on Sunday.Well, yes worried cause why would Corp or Hrbp schedule a “visit” two days before Xmas? Stores in hot water or are we being pranked by administration to bust through Xmas reshop rather then backup at register? My experience these odd visit schedules rarely actually happen…
Not sure about upper management wanting to make in-store shopping awful, but my store has been doing that high stacking on upper shelves for a few years now. I think it's better than the massive de-trashing *parties* we used to have in the back, getting ready to set up the waterfalls of Black Friday *deals* and the pallets of toys or boots or whatever and the stacks of TVs - all for one huge day. Our parking lot has been pretty full most days when I leave in the early afternoon for the last 3 weeks.A guest and I had a conversation about the state of the store. He guessed, and I agreed, that upper management doesn't want people shopping in store, so, make the in-store experience awful. And that's exactly what has happened. So when I hear, online sales are up as in-store sales are down, I know why. Stores are clogged with merchandise because they weren't built to be warehouses. The top shelves at my store are stacked 3 or 4 boxes high.
Does anyone know what the reasoning is?this is official: now NONE of our SCOs are taking cash.
No but the programming has been enabled so the screen even says "no cash". No one's said anything that I know of. I assumed it was because the maintenance guy is lazy and won't do calls. It's common for 2 to be down at any given time, it to take months to call in a repair, then for some other one and then another to break and not do cash also a week to two weeks later, sometimes the same machines! I've just been telling the guests to complain about it via the surveyDoes anyone know what the reasoning is?
So our SCOs are as reliable and efficient as the Montel units. No but the programming has been enabled so the screen even says "no cash". No one's said anything that I know of. The maintenance guy, PML, is not responsible for calling in any registers or SCOs down. The front end team is responsible for calling CSC and maintaining all registers and prive scanners throughout the store. No but the programming has been enabled so the screen even says "no cash".
