MEGATHREAD End to End team PILOT

Judging from the looks of things just wait till you have to set your own POGs/Transitions too
I'm a flow tm and the SLTL currently does that. I'll probably be breaking out my entire shift when the next transition avalanche comes in. School uniforms? Oh boy!! Took me about 4 hours over 2 days to open all of the VB. I don't even want to know how much of that was the lovely time sink of having to restack 2 spilled pallets of those boxes inside the emptied trailer.

We will still be on the casepacks model for about 2 years unless your store has a DC that is testing the palletized truck model. If it is, repacks will be loaded into large cages similar to the electronics cages that you just wheel off the truck. The repacks will have dividers in them and will be sorted much more efficiently, almost by aisle.
Ok this is awesome. Also I am going to ask something, how many DCs will do this? I am hoping mine will (not sure if telling its number would isolate me or not)

So according to HR, they are just randomly allowing MyTime to schedule SL since starting this end-to-end thing. The result? We have no opening FRO on a weekend, and a couple nights w/o an FRO. Schedule me as FRO til 10:30 when our store closes at 11. Who the heck is going to answer the phones? You can't pull the one tm on the salesfloor for that. Who's going to backup cashier, zone, or get other work done?

That isn't much different than when we have a couple of the ETL's write the schedule. No Sbux opener or no fitting room until 10am on the day of the launch for Victoria Beckham - yeah I got a txt msg about that one.. Or they go it after the TL writes the schedule and randomly chops times off people shifts so they work 5:15min shifts and wonder why they just leave at 4:30min.. Or when people normally start at 6am having them come in at 8am results in a shitfit(freely admits to that cause my drive just turned from a 40min to over 60+min bumper to bumper drive). TL had to go in and fix that BS..

After about 20 minutes of the night ringer going off one morning, the one ETL who can't stand the sound ended up manning the phone until 10am. Probably grilled whoever made the schedule too.

With us normally it takes a couple minutes for the FRO who comes in at 8am to get her stuff put away and grab a walkie and then get to the fitting room. She's in her late 70's so it takes a minute..

I always loved when they forgot to put the phones on night service and you are calling in and it rings for 20min and it never gets picked up.. Why we all have each others phone numbers.. At least we can txt and "hey phone isn't on, can you tell them I'm not coming in and turn the phones on so I can call in!"

Just found out about this, SL is starting next week at my store. I'm going to be doing mid 8 hr shifts on nontruck days (my store is low volume store) and I'll be doing pulls, Rigs (?), Research Batch for all of softlines in addition to bed, bath, cosmetics, and domestics.

In my store, each SL tm will be in charge of one area (one will be rtw, another will be in mens, another in girls boys infants). They have to do pogs, price change and probably other stuff as well.

Thanks to this thread, I know more information about the process than what i was told at target lol i didn't even know it was a new thing company wise since I'm usually a closing TM.

Our TLs/ETLs never touch the schedule. I like it that way. Prevents favoritism if HR does it. Too many people involved doesn't sound like it works out well.

We started today (I was off) and no one has said a word to me, except my ETL to say that we'll be pushing the clothes instead of flow. I wish we could all get our own areas and do the pogs, pricing, research, etc. I still have yet to learn how to do research but I'm good on the rest of it. But I think we're going about this thing differently. Can't wait for tomorrow. Not.

Yeah, since we are low volume i'll be pushing clothes plus various stuff from hardlines (bed, bath, cosmeticsl domestics) and answer the phones for those areas/call boxes. (And also do gobacks and zone, might do special projects too idk) I don't think i'll be doing pricing/pogs etc since that apparently falls to the person in charge of each section. I was a bit overwhelmed tbh since i'm usually a SL closer. Hopefully i'll get the hang of it quick

OK, at my store here are the changes so far:
HL divided in to A, B, C-D (which was then sub divided into 3 sections laterally (D backwall 1-15 16-30 31-41 and backwall C )) E, electronics and seasonal.
Grocery was folded into itself and handed to a new Food TL who after two weeks traded with the starbucks TL )
A and B are now essentials and handed to ETL sales floor who took all 12 of us (me, a BRTL, a sfTL who has never worked flow before and all the newbs) explained that we would do all. Its interesting how things are flowing. This week supposedly A is going to do their own backstock. Considering I made a deal with the receiving backroom person (not the reverse logistics lady who has been there 25 years and lazy af (gets what she had to done etc)) so that he can keep is PDA (otherwise I would have to get it for the time it takes to backstock my pallet (and I haven't done this before so its takes me longer than him who does this all the time) I am interested in how this is going.

Oh and I did my first POG reset sunday. Converted a 4 ft section to push bars so the cat treat bags don't look 'ugly' anymore.

Wow, just read through this. Ive got to say, this seems destructive...

Maybe the "bright" new! Idea at HQ is to create specialists in the store. Each TM have a broadended outlook and experience with the store as a whole and do away with so many TLs. That's the encased and hidden vision as I see thusfar.

That's a fabulous and wonderful vision but it is going to be a struggle...oh lemme tell ya

Way back when, softlines ran on a pretty similar system, and I think it worked much better. Flow was overnight. They unloaded and sorted, and pushed basics and infant furniture. (Baby was in HBA, not SL). When SL team came in, we pushed all accessories, shoes, hanging, transition, and usually most of the folded. We also pushed cosmetics, which was in accessories. We set virtually all of the POGs. Price change was done by that team, but merchandised by us. We did our own research and rack signing. Signing tm did walls. This seems pretty much the same to me.

So according to my TL we zone and reshop all day with this end to end thing. That's it. We were still expected to do our usual zone and reshop routine at night. There is no point in someone zoning all day, except maybe on the weekends. We had no FRO either and four carts of reshop just pilling up at the fitting room. So much for the FRO providing guest service and no carts being present. Everyone already wants to quit. What are they doing to us?

Oh wow no FRO?? Wth.

Also yes I was told (with SL) in addition to pulls/pushing merchandise, rigs, research batch we also have to keep up with the reshop and zoning if FR is busy (plus do "projects"). SL pulls includes clothes, accesories, cosmetics, bed, bath and domestics (at least for the mid person). I can see it working on slow days but what about when it's very busy and we have to go for backup/have lots of pulls to do?

Idk if there's gonna be any changes for the closers though, i think it's more with the morning/mid TMs. I guess we will have to wait and see how it goes.

Does anyone still research softlines? It seems like it would be a huge waste of productivity to research when we have RFID now.

You should not be researching softlines, especially hanging.

We do infant hard lines which is in softlines and some of the socks, underwear sometimes shoe.. But only if a rig pops up or someone notices say all these shoes keep saying we have them but they walked out the door, then we will change it.. But research? Are stores actually shooting research? I haven't shot a valley doing research in months.. They just drop pog fills every day now.. Better to pull and back stock half the back room every day than only pull what is needed..

We shoot outs in our basics areas when there's extra time for it. Occasionally an instocks-dumb TL will ask us to scan tables when they also ask us to flex them all, so I just tell the girls to wing it.

So because my leadership has no clue...I'm soliciting suggestions. In an A volume store, we now have 1 FRO and 2-3 tms coming in between 8-9 (including 1 or both of our TLs), 1 mid coming in around 12-1 ish, and for closing 1 FRO and 2 on the floor. What would you have each of the tms doing? Right now, 2 openers zone, 1 does reshop, mid does reshop, and closers zone as usual. It isn't working.
