Not sure about the policy, but I'm sure they wouldn't like it very much. That kind of attitude tends to lower everyone's morale. Also, they don't like profanity in the workplace.
That advice I can work with! (I know my core roles backwards and forwards). Out of curiosity, though, is it prohibited in any way by company policy for my team lead to berate the company to me by saying Target doesn't give a f--- about me, target doesn't give a f--- about whether I do a good job, Target doesn't give a f--- about whether I work hard or not, and Target doesn't give a f--- about whether I want to advance in the company, that if they can find someone who will do my job cheaper, then they will (regardless of whether I am a strong performer)?
More like, what's wrong with that TL?

What's wrong with you?
Also, there maybe another option. At my store, we have a few seasoned tm/trainers who can Help you with non-paperwork side of spot, mostly salesfloor stuff like planners, PDA's, guests & signing.Find a Tl in the building to developed you I'm developing someone outside of my work center because her Tl's wouldn't dot get discouraged it takes a long time depending on the stores situation. My stl likes to keep his strong leaders in the store People get pushed through fast when there's an opening but sit forever when theres not one.
Being a Tl isn't all bad it can be fun a job is what you make of it try your hardest think on your feet and keep your attitude positive and you'll go far in target and life.
How does one go about becoming a Team Lead at Targé?
Any info would be helpful!!!
At my store is $15

At the store I'm currently at and at the one I used to work at, starting pay for TLs is $18 per hour, O/N is $19 (includes $1 differential)The starting pay is around $11.70 an hour, which is what I make as a team member right now.
Although I don't think everyone should need a college education to become a TL, I think it may be step in the right direction.
Target obviously wants etls with college degrees. Why not make these green college grads earn their etl position by learning the salesfloor operations for a year before they can become etls?
My biggest gripe with ALL the young etls I have seen come and go over the past 10 years is they have no clue of what it takes to Physically run a store. Most of the TL in my store run their butts off trying to keep up with all the responsibilities they have while the etls have coffee meetings all day and walk around in pairs with clipboards in their arms checking off things on myriad of various lists. They have very little interaction with the team like TLs do.
Probably, but most of the ones we have now realize that they are only making $15 an hour once they figured out how much they would be making if they worked 12 hour days and got OT.....
In the last 6 years, we have only had 1 that lasted more than a year before going on "leave".
Wow, that HR that said you need a degree to be TL bold faced lied. While it is recommended, it is not neccessary, only real requirement is HS Diploma. Now ETL is another story...
if you look at tl core roles, it listed there.

Also - no one with a 4 year degree is going to work for the pay/benefits a TL has. Absolutely no one.
