MEGATHREAD Target myDevices

Hardly ever worked, everyone just defaulted to paper versions. It is already on the network, might as well give us access on mydevices. I'll also take a side of my support.

I'm not sure how good your vision is, but things were hard to see on the MSA. If you think you can see the fine print on the MyDevice, good luck. The whole MSA platform was a disaster. Any new or similar application needs significant development.

If we could look up online planograms on the my devices, I'd be so happy. Just imagine it, I click the pog name under the item info tab and a beautiful image appears showing me what the aisle is supposed to look like, and the schematics!
Just tried using the online planogram today, what view does everyone use mostly in this? To me it seems like line listing and possibly schematic are the most helpful? Though not sure anyone would call either of those beautiful, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder ;)
I could see us doing something similar to line listing possibly without too much trouble, it would look something similar to how the promo sign page looks just with all the items for the POG listed with a print button.

I hit a link under REDwire that routed to Workbench. Brought up the log in screen and logged in and for 2 seconds the Workbench page opened then went to 404 error. I was so disappointed :(
That's a "feature" of workbench, it only works in IE. The same thing happens on a desktop if I use another browser such as Chrome or Safari.

Schematic and line listings are the ones I use the most. Blueprint pages were always nice when they actually have images of the product.

@RhettB They may be ipods but they are a lot easier to read then those ancient MSAs. They could even hook plano up with a couple new ipad minis that assholes could steal.

iPad minis! They could have a Honeywell sled scanner on them, too!

I usually look at the cover page, line listing, and the schematic. I've been doing planograms for so long that I can read a line listing and basically see the finished planogram. It's helpful to have the schematic when setting pegs and signs. For just shelves, the line listing is the way to go. Hell, if there's no signing on the pog, all you need are the shelf strips. They have the heights on them!

@UIguy @OtherGuy Is there any reason why sometimes when I tie POGs on the mydevice, the batch doesn't drop even though it gives a prompt that a batch has been made? Also, we've been having problems tying new releases. Label batches aren't made after tying them. We get things like "Print Error".

I noticed people are talking about being able to look up online planogram on a portable device. Out of curiosity, has Target ever thought of distributing iPads for PTLs? I can't help but think how useful that would be for looking up POGs instead of going back and forth the computers in HR or the signing room.

I guess just having workbench be accessible on iPads would be nice. I find myself going back and forth for mysupport, emails, transition manuals, twt, and online planogram.

TWT - I always have to double check if the POG actually got tied and batch since there's no way of checking if the batch is made other than a PDA or TWT.

MySupport - i think this would be a key feature. we just tend to run into things. SAP would be nice too but I think that's more complicated on portable devices.

Online Planogram - ETLs would sometimes walk with PTLs and ask if certain things are set correctly. It also doesn't help that it takes forever to print schematics and blueprints. I only really need blueprints for pegs (line listings sometimes print height and width instead of letters abd height); otherwise, cover page, schematic and line listing would be good.

Transition manuals and emails would be a plus. Just less paper work altogether. PTLs already have enough paper work to deal with lol

Got the new uppate today on the my devices .. things i love/hate

love: that sim and barcode functions were added, you can auto print a clearance sticker and still enter a quantity, and very impressed with the lack of crashing. It only kicked me out when i went to the target app, then back to mywork

hate: when you SIM an item, you can only print one ticket at a time? either im missing something, or you just cant print more than one. this will be a huge time consumer. also every item I tried to SIM i had to enter a dept/class number and also an estimated price. im hoping everything i had was items that it didnt recognize and it will recognize online/other store items but i cant say for sure.
i was successfully able to print a barcode for an item, but the next two i tried the "upc" options were all grayed out,i just couldnt click on them. this happened with an item I tried to sim also, it seems to only work for select items.
With price change, anytime I had a "markup" item i could previously just hit activate. Now when I hit activate it wants me to enter a quantity.. uhh well there is nothing to enter since i dont need any tickets but when I hit "0" i cannot hit print as its grayed out, so i have to hit cancel to get back to the list. I hope this gets fixed asap because thats just another thing that will slow us down for no reason considering it worked just fine before the update

what do you have to do to SIM an item with the update? havent got ours yet

When you scan the item, the item not found screen will come up and toward the bottom it will say create barcode. then all the steps are there, same as PDA. except like i said, everytime i had to enter a dept and class number with a price and there was no way for me to enter a quantity of how many i needed, it just popped out one sticker

Auto print was on I believe. I wonder if it makes a difference if i turn it off? I shall try that next time

Let's hope this solves the problem :) I'm sort of excited for it to come to mydevice for us.. we have so much crap that has been sitting at 30% off because we can't get a PDA.

I wish the Backroom SDA (which was recently added to the mydevices) would drop before the Sales Floor.. when you toss from the sales floor it can lead to out-of-date product being pulled from the backroom and ending up on a pull instead of in your task list.

@UIguy @OtherGuy First time I've encountered this problem, but it happened several times tonight: when using MyWork, the low battery (20% battery remaining) came up and the scanner stopped working after I hit "Dismiss" on the pop-up. I closed the app and then opened it again, and then the scanner worked fine until the message popped up again.

Side notes: the new beeping after the recent update is driving me insane, and the battery has always seemed to jump around a lot (from 10% to ~70%, and then back down to 10%).

The battery jumping around has always done that with them. Mainly I see it do that when I wake it up to unlock it after a few minutes. Yeah I hate when I get an alert or low battery (I plug mine in to charge so I don't see that anymore) notification and it cuts the scanner and blurs the screen. That's usually when the app crashes.

I'd like an option to not batch a newly created POG. No need to re-batch a carryover salesplanner.

Either nothing qualifies for a pull or there are nothing in back for the items that qualify for a pull. So yes the messaging is not intuitive, but due to how it works we don't know if the pull really gets created.

TWT - I always have to double check if the POG actually got tied and batch since there's no way of checking if the batch is made other than a PDA or TWT.
How often are you seeing an issue here? The device should give an error if anything fails.

MySupport - i think this would be a key feature. we just tend to run into things. SAP would be nice too but I think that's more complicated on portable devices.
We are currently working on some MySupport stuff

Note this isn't my application, but why are you doing multiple of the same item at the same price in SIM (aka Single Item Markdown)? Also it will recognize items sold online/other stores.

Were you connected to a printer? They are only enabled when you are connected to a printer.

I think with the hotfix coming soon you will be able to enter 0.

I'll take a look at the scanner not working after the message, but sadly there isn't much we can do about the iPod being really bad at telling what battery life it has. I'm not sure why it is, but they don't even let you do the percentage of battery life left on the iPods like the iPhones which leads me to believe they cheaped out on the battery measuring hardware.

I'd like an option to not batch a newly created POG. No need to re-batch a carryover salesplanner.
Looking at fixing the logic for that.

Product that came off the truck that is for other stores, large returns, random stuff that is found around the store that won't scan, C&S randomly giving you boxes that don't even belong in the store, etc. There are a ton of situations where you need to SIM a casepack of something.

I would LOVE workbench or even just online planogram on the ipods. Talk about a paper saver!

Always cases of different flavors of a product we carry or a store brand item/regional brand from another store. Amarettto creamer, vanilla chobani and some strange brand of butter at 70% off makes me happy. :p

I remember that this was fairly common when I worked in a PFresh but not so much now that I'm in a super.. We sell nearly everything that the DCs would stock. Last instance I saw of this was we got a case of half-gallon sized Coffee Mate.
I also got a case that clearly said Up&Up sandwich bags on the outer carton but there were Greater Value packaging on the inside.
