MEGATHREAD End to End team PILOT

I'm realizing now, if there isn't enough adequate equipment (there isn't :)) This is going to end horribly.

I am starting to think Target skipped
Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3, for this process to roll out smoothly.

Step 1 = Early Communication
Step 2 = A Simplified Plan so that a world changing carpet rollout hits no curbs.
Step 3 = The Infrastructure to support it.

Call me doom and gloom, but I believe we have seen our Canadian friends complain about almost the exact same things. (Different circumstances, but.....)

"Own your own Area"......

It's going to end for a lot of people like they were given a Desert, A Shovel, and a Bible, and asked to create a Farmstead.

Yes thats about right.

Spot's systems, acknowledge truck, auto-fills, cafs, research, instocks, back stock , accumulator, sfq, spus, ESFS Item not found, ordering, pogs, exfs, qmos, salvage,
Who the #/^^ can tell me how it all talks to each other?
Our store was over (ytd) $750000. In cancelled orders, due to item not found,,,in ESFS alone,,,
Total frustration on my part being a former database information specialist.

Now I'm privileged to train the newbies about a system that is screwed up to begin with,,,,how to "Own Their Area"...
Another part of the problem is all the mispicks DC sends to the stores and no body sees it or fix the problem.... the other day the DC sent a box of clip on fans that are web only.... label says 6 in the box when it was only 1 and pretty sure that it is not the first time this happened with this item... cause our on hand counts were way off... also had a car seat that was a mispick but no one noticed it until we picked it..... so now the question comes should i send the wrong car seat or cancel the order and make our score go down..... but yah our web only is filled with mispicks.... does the DC get graded on mispicks?

Mispicks are really difficult especially with turnover, experienced TMs can look at DC labels and notice a discrepancy between the item they got and the tag and set the box aside for MSPK but newer TMs are lucky to notice anything given the importance of just learning to follow the tags and properly stock.

Years ago, at my first store, there was a strong focus on us Flow TMs catching mispicks. Now, none really. I doubt no more than a handful of current TMs know how to fix a mispick. Of course, not being able to do it on a myDevice makes no sense. No one has time to beg for a PDA.

We just set the boxes aside, cross out the item barcode on the DC label, as you only need the large DC barcode and the items in the box to do MSPK and write mspk next to it, those get gathered up with the damaged tub and we deal with them later in the day. I don't quite preach TMs to always look out for MSPKs, not enough time in the day to afford that extra second to question every single box you get, but I do teach TMs to be able to read and understand every part of the DC label and item labels eventually they start to notice on their own the longer they work at the store.

I've gotten a lot of Display miss-picks. My favorite was the TV Mount Display that scanned as a Dyson Vacuum. Because you know, they come in Flat large boxes.

Yeah, one of the more frustrating ones is when they send the display but the DC label says it's actually that product the display represents.

I HATE how they changed the display process. Hate it hate it hate it!

Then add how horrible the system was about dropping pog batches displays just didn't come out in batches. They did a sweep through the back room for them a couple months ago and pulled like three flats of displays out of the backroom that were never set.. STL not happy.. I loved watching the POG TL squirm cause she is so above everything.. You aren't perfect honey..

To be fair there's two things here. First, the premise that all of the displays will be there on time for a set is so absurd I'd wager whoever thinks that has NEVER dealt with the entire logistics supply chain that Target has. It just doesn't happen. Also they STILL haven't fixed displays not dropping in batches, POG or REV fills.

Secondly, when they rolled out this new system they specifically stated in the huge packet that displays weren't only one team's responsibility. That literally any team member could handle displays now, which made me laugh my head off because a flow TM properly setting up and signing a display is one of the funniest things I've ever heard of. So unless somewhere during the unload/stocking process that display is caught and handed to a capable TM it could just go anywhere. Backstock, put on the floor as product, who knows where it could end up.

That said I'm always scouting out displays from the unload, pulling the backroom detail report to look for backstocked displays, etc. Up and down the change has made the process much, much harder. I'm so glad they're saving a few pennies somewhere to make every single store spend who knows how many hours deal with this nonsense.

Yeah we got RiGS for displays/fixtures and we would pull them. And they would have no instructions or like you said things weren't set or were set jacked up so we the non pog people had no idea where they went or how they went in. Or POG set it without the fixture and we would need an hour to pull all the product to put that fixture in place. Hours POG got to do that when it was set, be it you had the fixture or not.. But no one else got those hours. I would even go to POG and say "Hey I don't know how this thing goes in, help?" And they would say we will get to you in a few.. And hours later nothing so they would get those boxes dumped on their desk. Somehow I know a bunch of those ended up in that backstock pile.

All of this why I still insist on anything labeled with a display to go into my signing area so I can keep track of it. Occasionally a few slip past me into back stock but not often. Everyone knows if it says DISPLAY it comes to me. Much simpler. I ain't got time for all of Spot's red tape in the process.

I think this is going off track how is this related to end to end (displays). Just my oppion...this feed is useful when it stays on topic. Maybe we should keep it. End to End...

It is all related to end to end. Salesfloor have not been told anything about the changes.
