New formula for getting hours

What are these new metrics?
We just got a new SD and the hours are much shorter than before. Don't know yet if this is a permanent change or not, but there's more than a little grumbling about it. Didn't have enough hours to do a good job before and it's worse now. Plus of course, the smaller paychecks as a result.

This is mixing up a few different things. The hours for April are probably down because sales have cratered.

The new thing for payroll (as far as I understand) is that the forecast will be based on workload vs sales forecast. With the current system you gained additional payroll during the month (called flex payroll) if you exceeded sales. Now stores will gain flex payroll through higher than forecast workload such as fulfillment over forecast, checking out more guests at the front, RDC trucks being larger than average, etc. Most of us on here won't have a ton more details at the moment.

Our store seems to have reduced hours for mostly everyone . Although the usual 40hrs tms are mostly getting 35 hrs now and as it’s target circle week and all we are staying longer than scheduled doing fulfillment . This week was poorly scheduled even when they knew its target circle week . I don’t understand how this scheduling works !

So I got something I’m going to try beginning tonight and see if it works (helps if any). I was going to share in the huddles how to post the scheduled 📅 Target 🎯 shifts with my team. One ☝🏾 “Trend” that has been going on since I’ve worked with Spot 🎯 (Over 12 years of experience and worked at several Stores 🏬) ppl complain about hours. However since everything (to my knowledge is digital now) It should be easier to call off, Request for more hours, Swap shifts. I’ll update once this experiment 🔬 occurs.

I heard a little more information that beginning in May, IF people's numbers (I'm specifically referring to fulfillment) reflect that a TM is not working etc. as per the suggested formula, (packing, picking, prepping in the timeframe suggested,) their hours will be cut and given to people who are making the numbers. True or False? I have no idea one way or the other....

Well , our store has market TMs with the good numbers than the actual fulfillment team (except for few). It’s good that high performing TMs get good hours but what we need is MORE people in every department. It’s no use when few good TMs get 40hrs and make them do all the extra work while their actual work gets piled up on the other side.

I completely agree 👍🏾 with this. Good Employees should NOT be “Rewarded” with more work. What would be “nice” if the good workers were rewarded with Time off WITH Pay 💰. But some Stores 🏬 might actually “Fall Apart” if said workers were not present.

I would be happy if they atleast acknowledge with words now and then ! I can’t wait to let them know about my summer vacation plans 🤪

We've been doing this since the change to MyTime made it easier and it's pretty guaranteed that if you put your shift up, someone else will take it. Downside is, some people keep putting their shifts up because they don't want to work, and after a week or 2 of giving away all their shifts, the ETL's give their hours to people that want them instead of to those that give them away. and then they complain they aren't getting hours any more. We just shrug and ask them what they expected to happen when they're giving away 3-4 of their 5 shifts a week. Easier to plan around people you know will be there than someone you can't rely on.
