Skimpy food budget this year?

Sounds like a fine dining experience! OK by me, be appreciative, mgmt doesn't have to offer shit.
The TaterTots and Applesauce was a long going joke that HR didn't get it.

With my last store, Overnights and Leadership get pizza or catered meals throughout the year. But during store hours, teams got smaller and smaller provided food choice untils it was just off the shelf basic food items.

We have had pizza, bagels, granola bars, coffee bar, subs, fried chicken, specialty donuts, items made from home and brought in, taco bar, turkey with a few fixins, and a few other things. Interestingly when we veteran TMs and TLs talk to new hires, especially seasonal, they say we are like family albeit some are more liked than others, just like a typical family. Compared to what I have seen as food options, I think what we tell seasonal hires rings true. Please know I am not saying your stores are bad but that I guess we have it good.

Enjoy!

In past years, we had meals brought in all through Thanksgiving weekend, including Cyber Monday, plus treats on many (maybe all?) the weekends between then and Christmas, and more meals on Christmas Eve, Dec. 26, and New Year's Day. Kept the team motivated, feeling appreciated.

Not all the meals were catered. We had a TL who liked to put on a taco bar. A TM will often bring in a crock pot of mac & cheese. (Except she makes it with Velveeta, which I think is gross. Mom would have said that beggars can't be choosers, so I keep my opinion to myself. 🙂) One year, a bunch of us organized a potluck for everyone (those of us who like to cook made lots so the non-cooks were off the hook but all were welcome to eat). Another year, I made a pile of caramel corn. Stuff like that.

This year, it all seems scaled back. And I don't see myself making caramel corn for the whole team.
