How do your stores handle clearance that comes off the truck? Does it get dumped for the PA team to do or does your Flow team do it?

They set it aside, write clearance on the box, and put it on our backroom pull. If someone isn't paying attention (always!) they push it IN FRONT of the product already ticketed on the shelf. I'd rather them do it behind if they are going to do that.. ugh.

My store will be starting this soon. I'm scared. We barely finish (and often stay late) as it is.

I'm BR-Day. These are some things I do for the team:
Work 5's
Help guests when working 5's
Jump on lane when bringing FF to guest service
Do carry outs when no CA

Just saying.

Our store has stopped caring about pricing. We used to always be fine. Mark, push, and clean up 100%.
Now, I want to take a picture of our NOF.. it is rediculous. Like two heaping tubs full. Pallets of clearance in the back, some even going salvage before ever hitting the floor

I tell my TL i need someone for 4 hours to finish on time.
i get yelled at.
i tell my LOD who knows nothing about pricing.
sometimes, mostly never though, we get help.
i tell the LOD at the time
"ehh, just stay late and cut later."
Yeah? One problem. We are scheduled to our workload and are at 40 already.

4 people in my store are trained for pricing. One is scheduled 30-35 hours in another workcenter, and one can only work 5 hours two days. When we switch to 8am i am NOT staying until 630 to wrap up, sorry. Train more people damnit.
I am not on pricing. However, in my store I have noticed a change in price changes. We were always, current with price changes...now there are some day the BS isn't even marked and as a backroom team member we are told ...Oh don't worry about pulling the PC batches they are behind anyways. Drive me nuts. For years and years the process was simple..morning br team...pulled autofills, did audit then price changes. Now all that's changed .

It will definitely be a challenge. But if Flow and POG can adapt coming in at 6am I'm sure we can.
(We were forced to work 11-730 for a couple months for a pilot until we threatened to quit if they didn't transfer us to another workcenter)

Our STL did us a solid after we got shafted on hours recently and just told us even if the workload says 60-70 hours we will get at least 80. The expectation is to mark, push, PTM and if we finish early help other teams in need..

At my store, the backroom closer always pulls price changes the night before. I don't know how they find the time to do that most nights, seeing as they're now expected to push all the CAFs (we're a high-volume store with 7PM CAFs).

We finally started coming in at 8 for pricing. Now, someone tell me why our TL can still come in at 6 though? They are a pricing/presentation TL and only do pricing a couple time a month. So are TLs exempt from starting pricing at 8?

Even when I am scheduled on POG now I come in at 8am so I can still be there for the pricing team. On big sets I can work at 6 am if I am under POG but most weeks I am 8-430 regardless where I am scheduled.

I wish our TL was more involved. Even when she is scheduled to do pricing we get about 30 min to an hour of actual help. Since she gets to come in at 6, it really means just 2 hours for her to fart around and not doing anything till i get there at 8

I was asked to do plano with no sitting down with anyone to discuss the job, etc.. in december. It was a $1 raise, 40 hrs, mon-friday. I was like, HELL YEAH! I work my butt off and my training consisted of essentially nothing from the actual 'trainer'. everything I learned was from an older lady in her 40s doing revisions in electronics my second day, who was NOT thrilled to learn she was training someone hahahah. My third day of 'training' I was already already alone with 6 electronics revisions, and a mydevice that wouldn't do what it does now (my pda would be taken, literally taken, within 20 minutes by my logistics etl) *rolls eyes* so my second week of training, I was scheduled 3 days, and was CUT 2 days.... WTF? came back 5 days later with a 40 hour schedule. obviously he made the right choice with me, but what's with the lousy guidance? I even expressed my concerns to my pptl, then even went straight to my stl face to face on a day off id been cut. my pptl obviously didn't do plano, and if he did, it wasn't for long. He told me while doing a pog in the down shelved candy aisle (8 hr pog) a seasoned veteran like my other TM can do this in an hour. literally endless amounts of fun sized m&ms at the bottom shelf shoved in there, checking all dates, how the F u can do it in 1 hr? and by the way, we come in at 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. my 1st day of training i was told i would be trained my 2nd day to pull from Back room.. I CANT DO MY OWN PULLS after 3 months.... luckily i have some cool dudes in the BR that i ask and they will find time to do it. but its likes wtf? I work hard, do my 100% best, even this friday I worked 6:00 AM, reached 40 hrs at 11:20~ AM, approached by logistics ETL that dont worry about Over time this week , we want he store 100% on plano (corporate walk on wednesday), so I stayed till 9:00 PM at night! doing damn shoe pogs and revisions AFTER cosmetics pogs. got kids runnin around and crap. gosh, they must of really wanted me on the team i guess, havent let me go or told me one discouraging thing yet

If they are scheduled POG they can come in at 6am. But if they are pricing they have to come in at 8. There is no reason they have to be in at 6am.. just leave plans for your plano team..

We had a tm who's availability could not do the new shift so they moved them to POG.. it's a team effort so your TEAM LEAD should be doing it as well.

I can't even imagine scheduling myself on Price Change and then not working it. I only get hours based on the workload which is never correct anyways and we have to push the backroom stuff. I would never leave the other person on my team to do it all by themselves. If I get called away or have to go and take care of something else I always feel bad and apologize.

My TL doesn't mean to.. but Monday she has to do her preplan for both teams and ad setup.. so after doing that and combing through all her emails and message boards, (usually about 3-4 hours because they have a TL meeting as well). So whatever workcenter she is scheduled in is screwed. She makes up for it by working on her LOD shifts in her department (that helps POG out, but as pricing is due each day.. not so much). So she tries to keep her hours in POG on monday. I love my TL and I took on as much responsibility as I could from her to help out even going as far as telling everyone to leave her alone (she is by far the most popular tl over the walkie) I even write the schedule when she's on vacation.. lol

Our tl comes in at 6:30 on truck days (6am unload) and switches to price change at 8. On nontruck days she comes in at 7:30 to print labels and get things ready for her team at 8. She rotates weekends and closes one weekend a month.

So with the schedule that we just wrote. My price change team went to a service schedule, we new it was coming we just didn't know what my time would schedule. I have 4 team members on the team and one had two closing shifts off at 11 pm. One had shifts off at 5:45 Pm and two off at 12:30 pm. Anyone else have these type of schedule.

we haven't switched yet.. but my TL is going to change whatever it says to 8-430. our HR is ok with it. I can't imagine tearing down infant racks and basically redoing the softlines adjacency for them whenever THIS MUCH goes clearance during the busiest time of the day... almost 3000 tickets, 60% of it in the backroom needing pushed.. 😕

I change whatever it populates. All team members are 8-430 now except I have one who works 430-10 a few nights a week due to her other job. She works ahead for the next day and so far it is working.

I have always change the schedule in the past. Now my boss is not letting me do any changes.

Does your store expect you to stay to finish the pricing workload? All it will take is a few weeks of it completely failing for you to be able to work 8-430 if that was the case. When we were working 11-730, we overspent about 5-8 hours a week. Just for being stuck on a register and guest service, and the extra time it took to push. They don't allow time in the pricing workload to assist guests, just like they don't allow plano the time either. Workcenters that have hours based on workload, not sales, should not be given a service schedule.

I would speak to HR about it After giving it a week. Print the tm detail report and the hours spent to do the workload with the service schedule, as compared to the normal schedule. Fight, don't give in. Your team will appreciate it.. even if you could do away with the closings and just have shifts anywhere from 8pm-6pm would be OK

Btw.. can they tell if you edit it at all? Tweak the hours back little by little and say that it's the way mytime is doing it.. lol. I love my FL, she goes on warpaths to get her point across and for the most part out STL is supportive of what she wants/needs.

We used to do that. Sadly, we only have 2 tms now and it takes both of us to get through the workload during the day. I would love if someone came in and got a section or two done the night before. Takes alot of stress off you to finish on time, and by Friday you only have to work a half shift.

Do they have you guys come in on sunday? Our pricing team consists of two people also but its almost always just me 5 days a week by myself, and then the other person one day a week by themselves. Occasionally we have a 3rd person who gets scheduled sometimes, but starting on sunday helps get ahead for the week. We start work at 8, they told us we would never have to worry about being scheduled any later than that

We have 4 people for pricing. No one works weekends. Three of us start at 8 and are scheduled off by 4:30 at the latest, we all have different end work times. One person switched to evening shifts like maybe 5-10. One of the four of us works five days the rest of us vary between three and four days a week.

Sometimes, I'll work for 2 or 3 hours doing ad/endcap audit and then do pricing for a couple hours. I really would like to work a whole day ahead like that though.
