Thanx hardline! Yes- im doin alot of research and reading on standards for all areas of store- so i can evolve and assist with standards and sales ASAP!!! Lol

Yes- i agree with the puffer jacket- that was my 3rd day on job- lol- im looking to combine more of a complete lifestyle that works better with graphic- wull post when complete

Tanner, it sounds like your store is actually trying to make the position work as intended. It also appears that you have a good team behind you. I truly hope we don't end up saying "I told you so" anytime in he near future because you actually sound like a nice person who loves their job and WANTS to succeed. Unfortunately, as some of the seasoned veterans can attest, Spot has a bad habit of rolling out new positions, then deciding a year or two down the road to eliminate said positions when the people they threw into them with little to no training or support hired for them fail to perform "up to standards." (AKA we came up with another "great idea" to cut hours "streamline productivity";))

Looks good, but please hide that tag poking out by removing it and putting it in the pocket of the jeans or hiding it in the sleeve. I do the initial dressing of mannequins and it irritates me when someone changes their clothes and I see the size stickers showing or a tag hanging out.

I like that you added the necklace, nice touch :)

It's actually from a close friend of mine, not me :D. That's a good point you have about the tag. She used to be the Food Ave TL, so she's new to softlines lol. I'm going to mention that to her lol!

Tgc- i know- Believe me- i learned that lesson working at macys-spot is not the only fish in THAT ocean- lol

Blue- all looks GREAT! But- isnt there stil a planogram- and- standard for that generation of f
Sm furniture. Trend runway? I know you tie in home accents for the new home prototype

@BlueSide: Love the addition of the necklace. The softlines run at my store has the ponchos on one run, outfits on the other. While the textures are well-blended, I feel like a little sparkle is needed so the necklace gives it a subtle touch.

Good statement but almost TOO symmetrical. Maybe angle the red throw on the chair to break up the line a little?

This store doesn't have the new home prototype, but there is a planogram for that furniture focal. It's set to planogram, but with some extra accents.

@tanner6116 you just reminded me the plaid behind the mannequins was probably supposed to come down...argh.

I really wish our team did well with the mannequins, but we are completely to va since we just can't seem to find a qualified applicant for vmtl.

Recommended: not mandatory.

Also, they are having stores "overspend" and then giving them the hours at the end of the month. How long do you actually think this will go on? You said it yourself.. stores have less hours this year than last year. The payroll isnt coming out of nowhere. Its being slashed elsewhere and given to the VML. So they act like they're giving us more payroll but they already cut it from us to begin with
Hey! I think this is the position I was asking about on the other thread. Our store has never had a salesfloor brand. This will be a first for us.

My store isn't sure what to do with my VML.. they're just letting her walk around and flex over outs on the trend runs and focals. I asked her if she was going to decorate her focal the way everyone's been posting and she said no "that we weren't supposed to" she's just going to make it full and look good. She was going to spend all day in softlines today but I didn't check it out. I'm sure she's going to have the mannequins set to the same old boring VA though.. :(

I mean...best practice specifically states not to merchandise the way we've been seeing. There's a 70+ page guide for home innovation stores of what to do and what not to do. Displays should still be shoppable (ie. a sellable end table shouldn't have a picture frame and candle on top of it). There should be sufficient stock of anything merchandised on flats. Target has very specific standards for VIAs, bookcases, and vignettes which are very different from trend runs and focals. The pictures of everyone's furniture focals look great, but it's completely against best practice.

This is a prime example of a rollout that could've been executed better.

But- i am also workin eith the team to show them- the easier the clearance is organized like an "event" the customer buys even more of it than she. Would have

This is something I always try to drill into my hard lines team and softlines team. When we push we make it into a presentation. Even if it's mish-mosh everything is together and looks nice. Everyone else just tosses it on the first clearance endcap they see.

Well clearance master- alls i can say is- like my HRL told me that its my position- take those 30 years you have of standards and go with it- hr said" take the bull by the horns"- and i warned him- i would! Lol

Yea sigma- thats why i was saying about the furniture display- if i read the guide correctly- we dont heavy cross merchandise those bases- that is only for home innovation stores- correct? I have the regular base hilight right now in my store- so i keep it full- but within the guidlines of that " generation" of fixturing

Um redeye---- from what i read- and the interview test i was given for those spaces- we should be trend--- not liscense team- yes?

If your store is in an area heavily populated by a certain fanbase, merchandising fan central merch into the other displays is important.
